Radio Tour to Promote National Safe Boating Week
Boat.com to sponsor safety broadcast tour this month.
SEATTLE - Boats.com, a division of Dominion Enterprises, today announced plans to sponsor a national radio media tour this month to promote National Safe Boating Week.
The radio media tour, scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, 2007, will be hosted by James Nolan, group general manager for boats.com and YachtWorld.com. Nolan will conduct on-air and taped interviews with radio news programs in markets across the country. He will discuss safety tips and boating industry trends for the summer boating season.
Debra Keene Bergeron, general manager of boats.com, said, "As boating industry leaders, we are seriously dedicated to advancing the cause of boating safety. With a monthly average of 1.4 million people already visiting boats.com as their primary resource for buying and selling their boats, we wanted to make sure they also have a safe and fun boating season.
"Listeners can also log on to boats.com and view boating safety tips under the "˜News & Reviews' section," she added.
The radio media tour is being produced by Rhodes Communications. Company president Jim Rhodes said, "This is the second radio media tour this year for James Nolan and boats.com. Our tour from the Miami International Boat Show in February aired on 12 radio news programs, including two national networks, with a total estimated audience of over 18.3 million listeners."
"We have already booked 11 interviews for the Safe Boating Week tour, including two national placements, and we expect to add several more in coming weeks," said Rhodes.
"Radio news programs represent an often overlooked public relations tool, and we are finding these tours to be a very cost-effective medium for reaching out to millions of potential new boaters across the continent," said Nolan.
National Safe Boating Week is May 20-26, 2007, and is intended to increase national boat safety awareness and launch the annual North American Safe Boating Campaign. The week will bring together multiple partners, including the National Safe Boating Council, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, and the U.S. Coast Guard, to provide the necessary resources and support to help reach boaters in individual communities.
